Modification is a written change made to an agreement or order. A modification may introduce or cancel specifications or terms of an existing agreement or order without affecting the purpose of it. An enforcement or modification may be necessary if circumstances have changed. In family law, this may include an illness, home relocation, job loss, or a situation where a parent fails to abide by an agreement or order.
